About Intermediate Dutch for German Speakers (B1- → B2)
Are you a German speaker who wants to speak Dutch more fluently? Or do you want to prepare for the NT2 State Exam Program II? In this course, you’ll work on all language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking. You’ll practice with current topics such as the environment, the economy, cultural differences, and science. Thanks to the fast pace and focused approach, you’ll make rapid progress and be able to communicate with greater confidence.
In 17 Dutch lessons:
- you will prepare for the NT2 State Exam Program II;
- you will develop your language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking;
- you can understand the main idea of authentic Dutch-language texts and videos;
- you write texts in which you express an opinion, provide information, or ask for information;
- you’ll explore topics such as the environment, the economy, cultural differences, and science;
- you can join in on conversations and discussions spontaneously.
In this course, you will work toward level B2 and prepare for the NT2 Program II State Exam. After completing the course, you can continue with the Dutch Course for German Speakers: Advanced Level (B2 → C1).

Who is it for?
This course is suitable for you if German is your native language and you have taken the Beginners Dutch or Dutch for German speakers for Beginners course. You can also take the course separately if you have reached level A2 by other means.
The pace of the course is relatively fast because the languages are closely related. You will therefore learn more about the Dutch language in a short time than in a regular Dutch course for non-native speakers.

Approach
During the meetings, you work a lot in small groups or pairs, always under the guidance of an experienced teacher. You will practice the different skills in class.
Teaching Materials
You will work with the book “The Finale. This book focuses on the State Examination Program II and contains many varied writing exercises, speaking exercises and listening assignments. For self-study you will receive teaching materials and assignments, which will be discussed during the meetings. Before the start of the course, we will inform you how you can easily order the teaching materials so that you can start your lesson well prepared.
Teachers
You will be taught by an experienced teacher who is familiar with the learning challenges of German speakers who want to learn Dutch. The teacher guides you personally and helps you get the best out of yourself. Because of the open atmosphere in the group, you will learn not only from the teacher, but also from the experiences of other students.
Certificate of Participation
