Russian Language Course for Beginners

Our Level 1 Russian course is ideal for beginners. You can take this course in person or in the virtual classroom. In this course at Babel, you’ll be introduced to Russian culture and build your knowledge of the Russian language. Over the course of 9 weeks, you’ll learn the basics of Russian through speaking and listening exercises and practice the characters of the Cyrillic alphabet. You’ll also be introduced to the fascinating culture of Russia.

How do you prefer to learn? Online or in person?

  • On-site lessons
    Are you interested in in-person classes? If so, you’ll take Russian lessons in small groups at our historic building on Nieuwegracht in Utrecht. Our building is very centrally located and easy to reach. It’s a 10-minute walk from the train station to Babel. Plus, we have plenty of parking if you’d rather drive.
  • Class in the virtual classroom
    The virtual classroom is an online classroom. Together with your fellow students, you’ll take classes led by an experienced language teacher. In addition to all the features of a real classroom, the virtual classroom also offers fun online tools, such as an interactive whiteboard and live quizzes.
