Want to learn Korean as a beginner? Then take our course Korean Level 1. In this course, you’ll learn the basics of the language. No prior knowledge is required for this course. • On-site lessons
  The Korean language course is taught on-site at our historic building on Nieuwegracht in Utrecht. Our building is easily accessible, both by public transportation and by car.
• Class in the virtual classroom
  In the virtual classroom, you’ll take classes with your fellow students. During the online classes, you’ll have access to features such as the interactive whiteboard, breakout rooms, live quizzes, and the chat function.

• Korean has its own writing system, called Hangul. King Sejong invented Hangul in the 15th century. Before that, Koreans wrote using Chinese characters, also known as Hanja.
• Korean is spoken by nearly 80 million native speakers around the world.
• There are two different numbering systems in Korean: Sino and Native. When learning Korean numbers, you need to know both systems, as they are used depending on the context. The Native system is used for numbers under 99, for ages, times, and when counting objects. The Sino system is used for numbers over 99 and is used for dates, minutes, distances, and currency.
• If you look at the shapes of the letters in the alphabet, they mimic the movements your tongue makes when you pronounce them.
