Advanced Dutch (B2+ → C1)
With this Dutch course you work towards C1 level. You will further sharpen your language skills and learn to communicate at a high level. This will enable you to express yourself smoothly and convincingly in everyday life and in your work or studies.
About the Advanced Dutch course
In this Advanced Dutch (C1) course, you will learn to use the Dutch language correctly, fluently, and persuasively. You will practice the language through topics such as sustainability, climate, rights, philosophy, ethics, technology, and innovation. This will help you expand your vocabulary, improve your grammar, and learn to apply Dutch in various situations: from academic discussions to everyday conversations.
In 17 Dutch lessons:
- you will be able to express yourself more fluently and in a more varied way, both verbally and in writing;
- you’ll be able to write well-structured, medium-length texts with greater ease;
- you will be better able to recognize the implied meaning of complex texts;
- you use a richer vocabulary with more idioms and natural language;
- deliver more impactful conversations, discussions, and presentations;
- apply grammar and style more accurately in a variety of situations.
In this course, you will work toward achieving a C1 language proficiency level. By the end of the course, you will be able to give presentations with greater confidence and participate more persuasively in conversations and discussions.

This course consists of 16 meetings and 1 test meeting.
Lesson duration
Each lesson lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes. The test session lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes.
Frequency
In this course, you will have classes twice a week.
Self-study
You spend 3-4 hours per week on self-study.
Who is it for?
This course is suitable for anyone who wants to learn Dutch (NT2). You have completed our Advanced Dutch (B2+) course or the B2+ Language Certificate for Medical Professionals (B2+). Alternatively, you have already achieved a B2+ language level through other means. During the course, you will actively and independently work toward your learning goals, both in class and through self-study.

Approach
During the meetings you work a lot in small groups or pairs, always under the guidance of an experienced teacher. You practice with recognizable situations from everyday life, so that you learn to apply the Dutch language directly in practice.
Teaching Materials
You work with the method ‘Dutch to perfection’. This method is specially designed for college and university graduates learning Dutch as a second language. You will also have access to an online learning environment with video fragments, vocabulary lists and pronunciation exercises, so that you can continue to practice actively outside of class. Before the start of the course, we will inform you how you can easily order the learning materials so that you can start your lesson well prepared.
Teachers
You will be taught by an experienced teacher who will give you intensive guidance and personal feedback. The teacher will help you to further refine your language use, so that you communicate in Dutch with more nuance, precision and confidence.
Certificate of Participation
You will receive a certificate of participation from us if you have actively participated in at least 80% of the meetings.
