This Korean course will help you deepen your knowledge of the language. You will expand your vocabulary and learn to form longer sentences. You will work towards language level A1.
About the course Korean 3
Would you like to speak Korean with greater confidence? In this course, you’ll work on your vocabulary, grammar and conversational skills. You’ll learn how to link subordinate clauses to main clauses, express your opinions and make requests. Attention is also paid to culturally appropriate language use. This will enable you to have conversations at a higher level and give you the confidence to express yourself more freely in Korean.
In 9 Korean lessons:
- you’ll link subordinate clauses to main clauses.
- you’ll express your opinions and ideas in Korean.
- you’ll make polite requests in appropriate situations.
- you’ll give more detailed descriptions.
- you’ll expand your active vocabulary.
- your conversations will gain more depth.
In this course, you’ll work towards language level A1. By the end, you’ll be able to form longer sentences, express your opinions more clearly and have conversations in Korean with greater ease.

Approach
In the Korean 3 course, the teacher guides you step by step through the course material. The teacher explains vocabulary and grammar and supplements the lessons with additional examples. We expect you to complete the exercises in the workbook and to actively work on learning the vocabulary. Vocabulary tests are held throughout the course to monitor your progress.
The focus of this course is on speaking skills, but listening, reading and writing are also covered in depth. You will practise individually, in pairs and in small groups, in a safe learning environment where you can learn to use Korean with confidence. In the course, we use audiovisual materials and supplementary activities so that you can get to know the language in an interactive and fun way.
Teaching Materials
You will be using the textbook and workbook ‘Sogang Korean 1A (3rd Edition)’. For self-study, you will receive assignments and teaching materials to help you practise further at home; these assignments will be discussed during the sessions. Before the course begins, we will let you know how you can easily order the teaching materials, so that you can start your lessons well prepared.
Teachers
You will be taught by an experienced teacher who will guide you step by step as you learn the Korean language. You will receive regular, targeted feedback on your language use, so that you can learn to communicate with increasing confidence and fluency.
Certificate of Participation
You will receive a certificate of attendance from us if you have actively participated in at least 80 per cent of the sessions.
