Would you like to speak German more confidently and support your opinions well? In this course you will practice with discussions, writing, presentation and current topics, and work toward level B2.
About the German 6 course
Do you want to communicate more persuasively in German and support your arguments more effectively? In this course, you’ll practice the language using current topics. You’ll focus on debating, writing texts, understanding complex texts, and preparing a presentation on a topic of your choice.
In 9 German lessons:
- you will learn to communicate more effectively and support your opinions with evidence;
- you can speak confidently with German-speaking conversation partners on a variety of topics;
- you will practice formal word combinations and the use of different writing styles;
- you write clear, easy-to-read texts and understand complex texts;
- you give a presentation in German in which you seek to engage with the audience;
- You’ll read an essay by a young, up-and-coming philosopher and be introduced to popular science texts.
In this course, you will work toward achieving language level B2. This will ensure you are fully prepared to live, work, or study in a German-speaking environment.

Method
Our teaching method combines a structured approach with hands-on working methods. The lessons are active, personal, varied and practical. There is always attention for your learning style, pace and level. Curious about how we design this course?
Approach
Each lesson begins with a brief discussion of homework. Then you work alternately in class, in groups or individually on interactive assignments. Discussion is an important part of the meetings, both with the whole group and in pairs. You practice arguing, presenting and writing so that you use German actively and purposefully in challenging situations.
Teaching Materials
You work with the book ‘Spektrum’ for language level B2. This book is specially designed for adult learners and is supported with extra online exercises. For the self-study you will receive teaching materials and assignments, which will be discussed during the meetings. Before the start of the course we will inform you how you can easily order the learning material, so that you can start your lesson well prepared.
Teachers
You will be taught by an experienced teacher who has an eye for your learning goals and development points. You will receive targeted feedback on your language use, argumentation in conversations and on your presentation and written texts. The teacher provides a safe learning environment in which you practice a lot, actively participate and visibly grow in German.
Certificate of Participation
You will receive a certificate of participation from us if you have actively participated in at least 80% of the meetings.
