Do you already have knowledge of Swedish and want to take your language skills to the next level? Or have you taken the Swedish level 2 course? In Swedish level 3 you will work towards language level A2. Please note: this course is given in Dutch.

About Swedish level 3

In Swedish level 3 you will work systematically on your pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Ideal for a holiday or an exchange prorgram in Lund or Uppsala, or for business purposes. All skills are covered, but the emphasis is on speaking skills, supported by exercises in reading, listening and writing. The varied subjects and teaching methods make the course not only educational but also very fun to follow!

The course is suitable if you have completed Swedish level 2 or if you have obtained level A1+ through another route.

Learning goals

In the Swedish level 3 course you will work towards language level A2.

After this course you will be able to:

  • engage in simple (telephone) conversations.
  • exchange information on everyday topics and activities.
  • follow conversations broadly, write simple messages and voice your opinion.

Practical

  • The teacher will speak Swedish as much as possible. Participants can ask questions in Swedish or in Dutch.
  • You can order the necessary books for this course via our website’s Order Books page. The Rivstart method contains a lot of (extra) online learning material, including listening exercises. This course will work from Rivstart chapter 13. You should make sure to have the book before the start of the first lesson.
  • You will receive a certificate if you attend at least 8 of the 9 classes.

Time investment

  • Swedish level 3 consists of 9 sessions of 1.5 hours at Babel in Utrecht or in the virtual classroom.
  • To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the classes, you should expect to spend about 3 to 4 hours per week on study and the completion of materials and assignments, which will be discussed during the classes.

Method

  • The teacher will lead discussions of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation exercises from the textbooks in class. In addition, the teacher will use his or her own teaching materials and handouts. The course is interactive. Conversation exercises are often done in pairs or groups.
  • In this course we work with the book Rivstart A1+A2 Neu. You can order the necessary materials for this course via our website’s Order Books page. You should make sure to have all required materials before the start of the first lesson. The Rivstart method contains a lot of (extra) online learning material, including listening exercises. This course works from Rivstart chapter 13.
