Swedish 1 course (A0 → A1-)

Swedish is a Germanic language. This means that speakers of English and Dutch can pick up the basic vocabulary relatively quickly. In this course you will build a basic Swedish vocabulary and grammar in a systematic way. Ideal if you are traveling to Sweden for holidays, academic exchange of business.

In Swedish level 1, you will work towards language level A1-.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

• understand and read simple expressions/sentences.
• use a range of expressions and structures for everyday spoken language.
• express yourself in writing using simple language.

• The language of instruction during the meetings is Dutch, but we will use more Swedish as the course progresses.
• In this course we work with the book Rivstart A1+A2 Neu. You can order the necessary books for this course via our website’s Order Books page. You should make sure to have the book before the start of the first lesson.
• You will receive a certificate if you attend at least 8 of the 9 classes.

• Swedish Level 1 consists of 9 sessions of 1,5 hours at Babel in Utrecht or in the virtual classroom.
• To ensure that you learn as much as possible from the classes, you should expect to spend approximately 2 to 3 hours per week on study and the completion of materials and assignments, which will be discussed during the classes.

• In this course we use the book Rivstart A1+A2 Neu. We will also use Powerpoint presentations and communicative assignments.
