In this advanced course, you will continue to develop basic knowledge of the Korean language and culture and build a solid foundation in Korean step by step.
About the Korean 2 course
Do you already have some basic knowledge of Korean and want to improve your skills? In this course, you’ll build on what you’ve already learned, whether in our Korean 1 course or through other means. You’ll learn to use basic grammar, various verb forms, and different levels of speech. Because language and culture are closely intertwined, the course doesn’t focus solely on the linguistic aspects. You’ll also learn what is culturally appropriate in different situations.
In 9 Korean lessons:
- ask yourself about your destination and purpose;
- you use different verb forms;
- conjugate verbs and apply basic grammar;
- provides detailed directions.
In the Korean 2 course, you will work toward language level A1-. By the end of this course, you will be able to hold conversations at a higher level.

Approach
In the Korean 2 course, the teacher guides you step by step through the teaching method. The teacher explains vocabulary and grammar and supports the lessons with additional examples. We expect you to complete the assignments in the workbook and actively work on learning vocabulary. Vocabulary tests will be administered during the course to support your progress.
The focus in this course is on speaking skills, but listening, reading and writing are also covered extensively. You will practice individually, in pairs and in groups, in a safe learning environment where you will learn to use Korean with confidence. In the course we use audiovisual material and additional activities, so that you learn the language in an interactive and playful way.
Teaching Materials
You will work with the text and workbook ‘Sogang Korean 1A (3rd Edition)’. For self-study you will receive assignments and teaching materials that will help you to continue practicing at home, these assignments will be discussed during the meetings. Before the start of the course we will inform you how you can easily order the teaching materials so that you can start your lesson well prepared.
Teachers
You will be taught by an experienced teacher who will guide you step by step as you learn the Korean language. You will receive regular, targeted feedback on your language usage so that you learn to communicate with increasing confidence and fluency.
Certificate of Participation
You will receive a certificate of participation from us if you have actively participated in at least 80% of the meetings.
